Pendidik Magazine (Majalah Pendidik)

Pendidik Magazine, or better known as Majalah Pendidik in Malay, was first published in 2006 by Widad Publication Sdn. Bhd. It featured scientific academic articles related to the education industry and learning institutions. Today, Majalah Pendidik has been revamped to a more contemporary version under the issuance of Wardah Communication Sdn. Bhd. This new version features a more reader-friendly approach and is equipped with information that empowers the lives of learners and educators alike. In addition to educational articles, its content also includes fashion, science experiments and explorations, short stories and poems by people in the industry.

Majalah Pendidik also serves as a monthly education magazine for the Ministry of Education (MOE) which is available in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak and Brunei via their network of distributors such as MPH Distributor Sdn. Bhd., Popular Book Store, My News, General Agents and through its website, www.pendidik.com.my (digital version).

The magazine also aims to provide global cutting-edge information for learners as well as educators, and professionals in Malaysia. For some, it serves as a source of inspiration where it features many well written case studies on the different aspects of education. Majalah Pendidik is a reliable source for researchers to turn to for the latest in the industry as it can guarantee that all information published is accurate and precise.

Besides that, the magazine also delivers pragmatic tools and resources to promote quality teaching and leading and assisting school improvement projects at grassroots levels. Majalah Pendidik also encourages an open forum for discussions and debates, supporting teachers in their teaching while promoting innovations in the classroom. In championing education through Majalah Pendidik, Widad has positioned their printed communication channel as a value added resource for decision makers to rely on.

Our Publication and Distribution unit produces an educational magazine, “Pendidik” and is responsible for a text book distribution to all schools nationwide; for the Ministry of Education (MOE).

Media & ICT

Malaysia probably has one of the most varied and expansive media industries in the region. Malaysians have hundreds of TV channels to choose from, hundreds of newspapers and magazines, numerous radio shows, countless websites & blogs and news portals. With the rise of digital network and satellite television, most Malaysians have access to the latest news almost immediately.

Because the vast majority of people rely on the media to keep them up to date, the media wields significant power: It decides what is newsworthy and runs or publishes stories accordingly. For these and other reasons, the Widad brand is a significant facet of bringing quality programs to Malaysians.

Our ICT division is focused on providing our customer with high-quality services, tailor-made to requirements given. We preserve a high level of business ethics characterised by integrity and honesty in all our business actions.

Projects

Since 2017, Dataprep has garnered a mix of short term and long term contracts worth around RM 50-60 million. Dataprep started off by handling government contracts; then it shifted its strategy to handle more private contracts. Now it has plans to strengthen the public sector again. Dataprep has plans to maintain its clients in the private sectors, mainly financial institutions, and at the same time grow its government/public sectors. Dataprep considers itself as a hybrid model.

Dataprep will be launching its very-own e-wallet business, describing it as a “volume-game” that will boost the top line contribution of Dataprep’s existing payment solutions segment to over 10%. The e-wallet service stands to benefit the Widad Business Group by utilising it as a payment service at Widad University College before expanding it to other public universities.

Dataprep also understands the value of strategic partnership and has entered into a memorandum of collaboration with URC E-Commerce (M) Sdn Bhd, one of the 3 channel partners of Alibaba.com. The collaboration aims to provide consultancy and training to local SMEs and groom them to become exporters under the Alibaba platform.

In moving forward, Dataprep plans to diverge from being solely a hardware supplier to becoming a software provider as well. Hence it has two segments: hardware and software. They currently have 26 centers with 350 staff nationwide. Dataprep will also be looking into cyber security and AI (artificial intelligence) as the way forward.
